Emily Bones Owner and Design Director

Emily is passionate about creating gardens for you to love and enjoy, while bringing you closer to nature.

“Gardens are living, breathing creations, evolving with the seasons and years. I hope that your new garden will bring you closer to nature by taking time to enjoy all the beauty of nature, wildlife growth and change”

Emily studied Horticulture and Garden Design at Capel Manor College (Regent’s Park, London) and completed her Professional Garden Design Diploma at Plumpton College (East Sussex) in July 2019, graduating with Distinction.

Prior to her career in Garden Design, Emily worked in NHS Occupational Therapy (specialising in mental health) for over 20 years. Wellbeing is one of Emily’s core values and is at the heart of her designs. The benefits of being in green space and gardening are well known, and Emily believes strongly in their fundamental importance for mental, physical, and social well-being. She brings her mental health experience into her new career as well as her lifelong interest in health, art, design, and horticulture. Designing gardens was a natural progression from her previous role, combining all her passions.

Emily believes that garden design is not only about creating beautiful spaces, but also about embracing the natural environment to improve people’s wellbeing.

My Ethos

“Gardens are living, breathing spaces that can improve our well-being and environment. My aim is to design the space in which you can live and flourish.”

Emily’s passion for sharing gardening extends to running a local community garden group at St John’s Church Beckenham, where she also designed their communal Sacred Garden.

Emily is a Pre-registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers and Associate member of Chartered institute of Horticulture. She has also worked at Chelsea and Hampton Court RHS Shows on various planting schemes.
